"Eureka!" Scientists Grow a Human Liver
Scientists grew a miniature liver from stem cells and foresee full-sized organs to be grown for transplants in the future.
These artificially grown tissues could be used to test new drugs, lead to fewer animal experiments, and may be used to repair livers damaged by injury, disease, alcohol abuse, and drugs. Researchers say that in about 15 years, we may see entire livers replaced.
