Hey...Put Down That Soda!

A statement released by the Karolinska Institute in Sweden warns that the risk of developing pancreatic cancer is related to the amount of sugar in your diet.
Sugar laden soda and syrup-based drinks can increase your risk of pancreatic cancer by 90% and those who add sugar to drinks five times a day (such as coffee) have a 70% increased risk of this cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., it is common, extremely difficult to treat, and has been dubbed "the challenge of the twenty-first century." Approximately 32,000 Americans will die of pancreatic cancer this year.
Need a couple more reasons to kick the soda habit? Drinking cola raises your risk of osteoporosis and just one can a day may add up to 15 extra pounds of body fat a year.
Instead of soda: try green tea for it's wondrous health benefits and be sure to drink at least 1/2 your body weight (in ounces) of water every day.
