Failure of a Drug

Pfizer's intent was on developing a new "wonder-drug" that would lower a person's "bad" cholesterol (or LDL) while simultaneously raising the "good" cholesterol (HDL).  What they got, however, were rising blood pressures, deaths, and heart problems.

Thank goodness Pfizer pulled the plug on their study, called Illuminate, that was schedule to be completed in 2009.
