Champions Eat Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and for good reason.
Breakfast is the first meal of the day, typically after an overnight fast of 8 - 10 hours, and will set the tone of your day, emphasizing satiety, concentration and work performance, weight control, and overall health.
While we sleep, our metabolism becomes catabolic. That is, energy metabolism brings about the breakdown of muscle. This is because of our nitrogen balance becoming negative, while amino acids (building blocks of protein) are being synthesized into glucose, so as to fuel the brain, nervous system, and other organs and tissues.
Yet, losing muscle due to this catabolism is the last thing health-conscious and fitness-conscious people want. We want to build muscle. So, we should aim for anabolism (process of promoting lean muscle mass) when we wake up. We achieve this by eating a well-balanced breakfast or complex carbohydrates, protein, and fats.
Never perform weight training without proper nutrition. If you weight train in the morning, you are already in a state of catabolism. Your training is, in itself, also catabolic. So you will be guaranteeing yourself a loss in net muscle gain by skipping breakfast. Why would you want to burn your hard-earned muscle away?
Not only will this muscle wasting slow your metabolism, but it will also leave you drained and tired, rather than strong, pumped, and energized for your day.
Think of your body in terms of a car. A car can not run on empty. Nor can you.
So what's for breakfast? That's simple: eggs and oats. One or two whole eggs, plus a few egg whites, will supply quality protein and fats, while the oats are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates and fiber.
For breakfasts that are fast and simple order my book: "Ms. Muscles' Cookbook and Targeted Optimal Nutrition Guide," today.
