Free Guide to Pesticides in Produce
Here's how to minimize your chemical exposure when choosing fruits and vegetables.
The Environmental Working Group (a not-for-profit environmental research organization) has compiled their 4th edition of "The Shopper's Guide to Pesticides in Produce" and offer it free to you.
And why would you want this information?
Many pesticides are now considered "endocrine disrupters", in part because the term is something of a catch phrase for chemicals that cause a variety of changes in normal hormone signaling. The most contaminated foods are peaches, apples, sweet bell peppers, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, pears, imported grapes, spinach, lettuce and potatoes. Those ranked safest are onions, avocados, sweet corn, pineapples, mango, asparagus, sweet peas, kiwi, bananas, cabbage, broccoli and papaya.
Knowledge is power, don't become a victim.
