It's National EMS Week

This week honors EMS workers; paramedics, EMT's, first responders, fire fighters, and police for their dedication to lifesaving services on emergency medicine's "front-line" and is a time to raise public awareness about health and safety issues.

These public servants frequently go above and beyond the call of duty to save lives while, often times, risking their own.  You will be assured to know that Emergency Medical Services teams, whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills.

And I am proud to say that I am in training to receive my EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) license.  This is something I've always wanted to do with my life and I am grateful that my health, strength, and wisdom will allow me do my part in saving lives and making a difference in my community.
