Weight Training - The Best Prescription for Heart Disease Patients
The American Heart Association is recommending that people with heart disease incorporate moderate weight training and aerobic exercise into their lives to improve health and fitness levels.
Aerobic exercise is vital to heart and circulatory system health, but strength training will increase muscle mass, decrease fat levels, increase bone density, and improve one's overall functional capacity.
Weight training -- or "resistance training," as researchers like to call it -- is no substitute for aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise such as running, walking, and biking is still the most important way to stay fit. But to get the most out of aerobic exercise, one should add weight training.Always think safety first, get your doctor's approval and start out slowly with light weights, stretching, and incorporate healthy whole foods into your diet. Your heart will thank you for it.

I purchased a GAMEBREAKERS Pro Power Suit for my grandmother who has a pacemaker. She loves it! She is able to incorporate low level weight training resistance in to an aerobic workout with ease. The suit is a full body suit with rubber wights that fit snuggly into pockets placed all over the body. It builds muscle endurance, while building strong healthy muscles. I cant believe it has worked so well already. Honestly she has been wearing this suit for a few weeks now and already her doctor has seen a huge difference. He has been recomending it to his other heart patient to add to their workouts. Her doctor said he can tell her pacemaker isnt working as hard as it has in the past and he can tell a noticable difference in her apperance, only after a few weeks! This is the best thing I think I could have done for my Grandmothers health!
