Shorter Workouts Burn More Fat

Here's a great change of pace to get you off that boring, hour-long, steady-state cardio and really kick start your metabolism to burn that stubborn fat.  Simply sprint for 8 seconds followed by a 12 second rest interval, continue this for only 20 minutes and go home!

I have written about this several times and can personally attest to it's incredible effects.  Here, Conditioning Research is adamantly supporting high intensity sprinting of short duration to directly elicit fat loss.

A few of the greatest benefits of this type of workout (aside from burning fat) is that I spend minimal time in the gym, feel incredible afterwords, and do not elicit the stress hormone cortisol that halts muscle gains and stops fat metabolism dead in it's tracks.

Nutrition is vital to success, too.  Note the relationship between food, insulin, and how it impedes fat metabolism.  Obviously, if you want to burn fat you must lay off the high calorie, insulin spiking shakes, no matter what time of day it is.
