Eureka! Fish Oil's Mechanism in Warding Off Alzheimer's is Discovered

It is well known that fish oil is an essential weapon against Alzheimer's, but exactly how it works was not well known, until now. According to Science Daily News, new research out of UCLA confirms the mechanisms of fish oil's actions against the onset of Alzheimer's and cognitive decline.
The omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) found in fish oil increases the production of LR11, a protein that is found at reduced levels in Alzheimer's patients and which is known to destroy the protein that forms the "plaques" associated with the disease.Fish oil's benefits do not stop there, these essential fats are of paramount importance to healthy eating. They help to shed body fat, prevent muscle loss, encourage muscle strength and development, lubricate your hair, skin, nails, and joints, improve brain function, fight cancer, and reduce inflammation throughout the body. The plaques are deposits of a protein called beta amyloid that is thought to be toxic to neurons in the brain, leading to Alzheimer's. Since having high levels of LR11 prevents the toxic plaques from being made, low levels in patients are believed to be a factor in causing the disease.
You would be well advised to supplement with a fish oil supplement and eat fatty fish at least once each week to keep your body running smoothly.
