So, your kid has a "boo-boo" or a headache and you don't want to give them drugs. What do you do? How would you like to give them a placebo and make everything alright?

I prefer to deter my kids from popping pills and looking toward a lifetime of prescription (and OTC) drug use. It's much more important for kids to toughen up for real life than to turn to pills or drugs for comfort.

Hmm...and how about a good old-fashion hug? There's simply no substitute for the human touch.
