Phelps Chews It Up
Michael Phelps is the talk of the town. So naturally, everyone is a buzz trying to figure out how he is capable of winning and how his body can burn through everything...
"Start with three sandwiches of fried eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, and mayonnaise; add one omelet, a bowl of grits, and three slices of French toast with powdered sugar; then wash down with three chocolate chip pancakes."
It's simple. Phelps is smart, he's powerful, he's mentally tough as nails, he has a definitive goal, and he's happy.
He is a young man with a naturally high metabolism, lots of testosterone, tons of rock hard muscle (remember - muscle burns fat), and a schedule of activity that would frightened any average Joe. So why wouldn't he listen to his body and eat what he craves?
A craving is your body telling you that you need something such as nutrients and minerals.
Cravings and hunger are normal, but most of us also know when we're full, when we should stop eating, and when we are eating out of boredom or because it's entertaining. Most of us also ignore our body's signals and eat too much and (in turn) get tired.
Phelps also has a positive attitude; he's a happy guy, smiling and walking tall through life.
Let's take a lesson from him. Let's work hard, train harder, eat as our bodies signal us, and keep smiling and walking tall.
And get tough!
