Toy or Torture?

 Fitness = play... or vise-versa?

Some people don't seem to think so.

Exercise is fun and so is child's play, so why confuse the issue? Running and playing in one's backyard with children is always rewarding, but not always feasible. Some parents don't have a large backyard or a safe neighborhood and need to play indoors. There is always the issue of weather, too.

Plus, some kids may simply be infatuated by mom and dad's treadmill and want one of their own.

Well, now the kids can have fun working out, too. It's all a matter of perception or how you look at it. If mom and dad think exercise is torturous, the kids will feel the same way. It's the adult's choice as to how the exercise equipment toy is perceived.

Here is a kid's typical response when shown two pieces of exercise equipment for kids:

"She eagerly ran and walked on the treadmill for almost three full minutes. Then she edged her younger sister off the glider, took a few strides, and promptly sat down on the foot pedals. "Push me, Daddy," she said."

Exercise is a positive act, let's keep it that way and stop making excuses to not move our (adult) bodies. Lead by example; exercise, eat healthy foods from nature, and love your family.

C'mon and release some endorphins, today!

Thanks, Cranky Fitness
