Low-Carb Diet Eliminates Type 2 Diabetes

Low-carb and no-glycemic diets are shown to control type 2 diabetes and, in some cases, eliminate the need for medication in a new Duke University study.
"Low glycemic diets are good, but our work shows a no-glycemic diet is even better at improving blood sugar control," he says. "We found you can get a three-fold improvement in type 2 diabetes as evidenced by a standard test of the amount of sugar in the blood. That's an important distinction because as a physician who is faced with the choice of drugs or diet, I want a strong diet that's shown to improve type 2 diabetes and minimize medication use."Here's the good news in plain English: "It's simple," says Westman. "If you cut out the carbohydrates, your blood sugar goes down, and you lose weight which lowers your blood sugar even further. It's a one-two punch."
You see, in order to lose weight and control your blood sugar all you need to do is exactly what I've learned in my 13 years of research and experimentation. Simply replace most of your carbohydrates with lean complete protein and healthy fats. Choose foods high in protein and low in carbohydrates and you will:
1. Build and maintain your fat burning furnaces; muscle!
2. Control your blood sugar to reduce incidence of Type 2 diabetes and other metabolic diseases
3. Have more consistent energy; be less tired!
3. Control food cravings; instead of them controlling you
Doesn't that sound like the life you want to lead? Healthy and productive, with lots of great energy to "Play as if YourLife Depends on It" (yes, it's on my wish list).
So get to the grocery store, shop the parameters, and bring home the healthiest whole foods you can find. You will be so happy you did!
