Our Sweet Nightmare

I want share this great book with you; "Sweet Deception," by Dr. Joseph Mercola. Think of it as an investment in your and your family's health.

Here is a good place to wet appetite on the subject. I find it totally amazing that we are led to believe the most popular sweeteners are actually safe for consumption.

Did you know that aspartame was accidentally discovered while scientists were developing a drug to treat peptic ulcer disease? That saccharin was accidentally ingested as two scientists were experimenting with chemicals made from toluene - a product used to make paint, paint thinners, fingernail polish, lacquers, adhesives, and rubber? And did you know that Splenda is not natural?

Splenda is a toxic poison, cousin to DDT, that is not at all close to sugar. It is absorbed by the body and may build up over time and cause myriad of disease. It has not been tested on humans, pregnant women, or children. And, as amazing as that may sound, you will also be floored when you here that Splenda is actually 99% sugar! It actually contains 4 calories, it is not safe for diabetics because it will impact your blood sugar levels, and it cost 38 times more than sugar.

Hmm....I think this is worth looking into, especially when you here the horror stories of inverted vision, rash, excruciating pain, cramps, dizziness, hallucination, diarrhea, memory loss, hives, change in heart rate, sleep problems and insomnia, seizures and convulsions, vomiting or nausea, and mood changes that are reported with use of these artificial sweeteners.

I'm done with that trash and switching to Stevia.
